Terms of Use

Version 1.2In force since October 7, 2026

The rules for playing WebSoccerOnline, written to be read. By using the site or the game, you agree to them and to the Privacy Policy.

This is a translation; the Portuguese version prevails in case of discrepancy. Read the original in Portuguese.

In a nutshell

  • The game is free, for personal use, with no ads and no purchases. XP, levels and cosmetic items can't be bought and give no advantage.
  • Online, respect others: no offensive names, cheating or abuse. Anyone who does may be removed or blocked.
  • Everything in the game is fictional: clubs, players, crests and competitions.
  • The game is in development: it may change, go offline or lose data.
  • The game is ours; you may play, record and share your matches.
  • Your progress only goes to the cloud, and your score only goes on the leaderboard, if you choose.
  • Children under 12 need a parent or guardian to save progress to the cloud, play online, link an account or join the leaderboard.

1.Who we are and acceptance

WebSoccerOnline is a football game played in the browser, maintained as a personal project by Sidney Braga Correia Filho (“we”). These Terms apply to the website websoccer.online (also available at the old address web-soccer-online.pages.dev) and to the game. By using either of them, you agree to these Terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the game.

If you are under 18, read them together with your parents or guardian. Children under 12 may only save progress to the cloud, play online, link a Google or Discord account and join the leaderboard with the authorization of one of them.

2.The game

  • Matches against the CPU (including 2 players on the same computer), the Cup and penalty shootouts, training, challenges, the player and club creator, 1-on-1 online play by link with spectators (in beta), an account with XP and levels, cosmetic items, the daily challenge leaderboard and replay clips.
  • It is free, with no ads and no purchases. If anything paid is ever offered, it will be optional, announced in advance and subject to its own rules.
  • XP, levels, titles and cosmetic items are unlocked by playing and are purely decorative: they don't change attributes or give any advantage in matches. They can't be bought, sold or traded, have no monetary value and may be adjusted or reset, for example to fix bugs or cheating.
  • Daily challenge leaderboard: only those who choose Join today's leaderboard take part (the display name becomes public), and this requires cloud progress to be turned on. After the first entry, attempts are sent automatically while the automatic sending option is on; you can turn it off under Account. The server replays your attempt and only the score it calculates counts. Attempts that can't be verified stay on your device only. The leaderboard shows the last 30 days and gives no prizes.
  • We grant you a personal, free, non-exclusive and non-transferable license to play, for non-commercial purposes, for as long as you comply with these Terms.

3.Account

  • Unless you choose otherwise, your progress stays only on your device and no account is created. The first time something would be sent, the game asks whether you want to Save to the cloud or keep it On this device only. If you choose the cloud (or sign in with Google or Discord), the game creates a guest account, with no personal data, that stores your progress. You can link it to Google or Discord to use the same profile on other devices.
  • You can turn off cloud progress whenever you like, under Account: nothing new is sent, but the account keeps existing until you delete it.
  • An unlinked guest account is lost if you sign out of it, clear your browser data or switch devices, and it is deleted when no connected device remains (each device is removed after 180 days without use). A linked account with no activity and no connected device for 2 years is also deleted.
  • With 2 players on the same computer, XP and records go to this device's account, which belongs to Player 1.
  • Look after access to your device and to your Google or Discord accounts: anyone with access to them can use your profile.
  • You can delete your account whenever you want, inside the game (Account → Delete account). This deletes the cloud profile, your XP and your leaderboard scores, and cannot be undone.

4.Rules of conduct

These apply to online play, to the leaderboard and to everything you create in the game. You may not:

  • use a display name, club name or player name that is offensive, discriminatory (on grounds of race, color, ethnicity, religion, origin, gender, sexual orientation, disability or any other reason), sexual, violent or profane, or that glorifies crime;
  • impersonate another person or put personal data in a name, whether yours or someone else's, such as a full name, phone number, address or school;
  • use the names, trademarks, crests or kits of real clubs, athletes, leagues or companies;
  • cheat: modify the game or its network traffic, use automation software or computer-generated plays (including in the daily challenge), deliberately exploit bugs or fake scores;
  • use multiple accounts to appear more than once on the leaderboard or to get around a block;
  • abuse the servers: create rooms in bulk, or overload, break into or attack the services;
  • use the direct connection or any other feature of the game to find out other people's data, or to harass, threaten or stalk anyone;
  • use the game for anything illegal.

What happens if someone breaks the rules

Depending on how serious it is, and without prior notice when needed to protect other players or the service, we may: change or delete the name or creation; remove scores from the leaderboard; close the room; temporarily block the IP address or the account; or delete the account. If you think we made a mistake, write to us.

How to report

Write to [email protected] with the room code or the name on the leaderboard, the date and what happened. If someone threatens you, tell an adult you trust and, if necessary, contact the authorities.

5.Your creations and clips

  • The names, crests, kits, appearances and effects you create or choose are your choices. You authorize us, free of charge and for as long as you use the game, to store them (on your device and in your account) and to show them to you and to other players — online, to spectators and on the leaderboard — only within the game.
  • You guarantee that your creations don't infringe anyone's rights, such as real names and trademarks. We may change or remove creations that breach these Terms.
  • Replay clips are generated on your device and are only published if you want them to be. When sharing, you are responsible for what you post and must follow the rules of the platform you choose. Remember that a clip may show other players' names.

6.Fictional content

The clubs, players, crests, kits, stadiums and competitions in WebSoccerOnline are fictional, created for the game. Any resemblance to real people, clubs or brands is coincidental. The game is not affiliated with any club, league, federation, athlete, video game manufacturer or game publisher.

If you believe something in the game uses your name or your trademark, write to [email protected]: we will look into it and, if appropriate, change it.

7.Intellectual property

The game, including its code, art, models, animations, sounds, texts, names, crests and the WebSoccerOnline name, belongs to Sidney Braga Correia Filho and is protected by the Lei de Direitos Autorais (Law No. 9,610/1998, Brazil's Copyright Act) and the Lei de Software (Law No. 9,609/1998, Brazil's Software Act), except for the third-party components listed in section 8.

You may

  • take screenshots, record videos and stream your matches, including on monetized channels, as long as you don't claim the content is official and don't sell the game or any part of it.

You may not

  • copy, sell, redistribute or host the game or any part of it;
  • reverse engineer it, except where the law allows;
  • extract art, code or data from the game to use in other products;
  • use the WebSoccerOnline name in a way that looks official.

The game and the site use open-source components, each under its own license:

9.Availability

  • The game is in development (online play is in beta) and is offered as is, free of charge. We don't guarantee that it will always work, be error-free or work on every device and browser.
  • We may change, pause or discontinue any feature, or the whole game, at any time. Whenever possible, we'll give notice beforehand on the site or in the game.
  • Data stored only in the browser is lost if you clear the site's data or switch devices. In exceptional cases, such as fixing serious bugs, the leaderboard or cloud progress may be reset.

10.Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for: interruptions or failures of the game and the servers; loss of data stored in the browser; what other players do, including with the IP address seen through the direct connection (which only turns on if you choose it); and third-party services, such as Google, Discord and the platforms where you share clips.

Nothing in these Terms takes away rights that the law guarantees you and that cannot be waived by contract, such as those under the Código de Defesa do Consumidor (CDC, Brazil's Consumer Protection Code), where applicable.

11.Termination

You can stop playing whenever you want and delete your account in the game. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, or shut down the game, giving notice in advance whenever possible.

12.Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms when the game changes. The version and date are shown at the top. Important changes will be announced in the game or on the site before they take effect. If you keep playing after that, you agree to the new version; if you don't agree, stop using the game and, if you wish, delete your account.
